Accommodation
Independent room with private enclosed shower room and private enclosed toilet. You'll find a large dining room with a fully-equipped, shared 50 M² kitchen: fridge/freezer, microwave, coffeemaker and coffee machine, kettle, ceramic hob... Everything you need to feel at home.
All communal areas are accessible to you, including the swimming pool and outdoor barbecue!
At Barréjat, we have many animals living on site (horses, sheep, goats, pigs and of course a few dogs and cats). So we're happy to accept your pets. To cover the extra costs of cleaning, we only ask a supplement of €10 per stay for pets. Thank you for your understanding.
Access for travelers
To make your stay with us as comfortable as possible, you have the option of preparing your own meals in the large shared kitchen-dining-living room", if you wish, you can cook on the wood-burning stove", or choose the all-inclusive table d'hôte (€25/person) "aperitif, wine, main course, cheese and dessert, coffee, digestif".
You'll also have access to all the household appliances you need: washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, microwave, etc. etc.
A barbecue by the pool lets you prepare your own grilled meats.
A wifi access and a library with regional books, maps and various documentations offer many suggestions for discovering the Cathar Pyrenees on horseback, motorcycle, bike or on foot.
Barréjat, with its 5 hectares, is at the starting point of numerous walks, bike rides and horse rides. The Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage route passes close by.
Our historical heritage: Barréjat lies at the crossroads of many different routes: you can visit the Bastide of Mirepoix with its cathedral of Saint Maurice, which has the distinction of having the widest nave in Europe after that of Gerona in Spain, the rock church of Vals, the Château de Lagarde also known as the little Versailles, Camon, Puivert, Monségur, Roquefixade, Foix etc. and of course the city of Carcassonne. The Pyrene forges in Foix, a "museum of crafts and know-how", or the textile museum in Lavelanet, a town of spinners and weavers.
But also prehistory, with a visit to the Parc de la Préhistoire and the caves of Niaux, La Vache, Bédeillac and, of course, Mas d'Azil.
The Bouiche underground river, but also the Ariège river, rafting for sports enthusiasts and thrill-seekers.
During your stay
We've been renovating this old family farmhouse since 2007. Everything is here to make you feel welcome and to give you a real vacation. At night, you can look up at the stars - we have no lights in the vicinity - or take a midnight dip under the stars. The heated swimming pool is a place to relax, with salt water at 28°.
We often see deer and roe deer in the fields around us as the sun begins to decline and the air becomes a little cooler.

During the hottest hours of the day, the crystal-clear, luminous swimming pool welcomes you for moments of relaxation and idleness, without any chlorine aggression for your skin. Relax on comfortable deckchairs and enjoy the panoramic view of the Ariège Pyrenees.
